Carter Marine Group was engaged by Wellington Shire Council to deliver a full upgrade to the Port of Sale mooring facilities. This high-profile project aimed to enhance access, safety, and infrastructure quality at one of Gippsland’s key recreational and tourism gateways. The scope encompassed the complete redevelopment of marine and adjacent land structures, aligning with best-practice environmental and engineering standards.
Scope of Work
Design and construction of new mooring piles, finger jetties, retaining wall, and drainage system.
Installation of a new seawall and a shared pedestrian path for improved access and amenity.
Integration of bollards and a soil erosion control system to reinforce structural and environmental stability.
Coordination of utility relocations, permit acquisition, and full construction certification.
Installation of solar lighting, landscape furniture, and traffic management toensure public safety during works.
Outcome
Completed within the stipulated timeframe (December 2022), the project was delivered to a high standard of durability, functionality, and aesthetic. The upgraded Port of Sale facilities now support greater recreational use, enhance regional tourism, and ensure long-term serviceability of critical marine infrastructure.
