SHAVING POINT BOAT RAMP
METUNG, VIC
PRINCIPAL
LOCATION
VALUE
Shaving Point, Metung, is a vital access point for recreational boating, tourism, and localmarine activities. Over time, the existing boat ramp infrastructure had suffered from wear and tear due to constant exposure to tidal forces, boat traffic, and weathering. Recognising the need for an upgrade to support the growing demand and ensure community safety, East Gippsland Shire Council engaged Carter Marine Group to deliver a comprehensive revitalisation of the boat ramp facilities.
Scope of Work
The Shaving Point Project required a complete overhaul of the existing marine infrastructure, including:
- Demolition and removal of deteriorated ramp structures
- Construction of a new, modern dual-lane boat ramp
- Installation of a durable FRP jetty (including wall sheet pile as wave screen) and floating pontoon jetty
- Upgraded anchoring solutions for jetty stability and resilience
- Site beautification and improved accessibility for users
